Powell Library Game Room
The Powell Library Game Room provides access to select old and new video game consoles and games, as well as board games available for in-house use.
The Powell Library Game Room is located in Powell 236A and is accessible via the Main Reading Room. The Game Room provides access to select old and new video game consoles and games, as well as board games available for in-house use.
Please note that the Powell Game Room is not a study space, so we ask that you keep the seats available to those who wish to use it to play games. We also ask that you help us keep the shared space tidy for fellow gamers so everyone can comfortably use and enjoy it.

The Game Room provides access to select new and old video game consoles. The Library owns a handful of video game titles which you are welcome to play on the in-room consoles. You can find those games in the Powell Main Reading Room, on the shelves just to the right of the entrance to the Game Room. Controllers for each console are available behind the circulation desk for in-room use. Please note that a Bruin Card or Library card is required to check out controllers.
A variety of board games can be checked-out for in-house use at the circulation desk to be brought back to the Game Room. Please note that a Bruin Card or Library card is required to check out the board games. Find a complete list of available games at the circulation desk or in the Game Room.
You are also welcome to bring your own games to play in the Game Room if you wish! If you choose to bring your own games, please know you are responsible for them. We also ask that you ensure your games comply with the library policy for Conduct in the UCLA Library(opens in a new tab).
Please note: Video games may be checked out of the Library, but board games cannot be taken out of the building.
The Game Room is open whenever Powell Library is open; however, it closes 30 minutes prior to building closure. Please see the Powell opening hours(opens in a new tab) for the most up-to-date information.
The doors to the Game Room should remain closed to be courteous to patrons studying in the adjacent Reading Room.
The Powell Game Room is a shared space and is not reservable for private clubs or events at this time. The room is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
