Book Talk by Yasuko Takezawa

Yasuko Takezawa, chair in US-Japan Relations at the Terasaki Center for Japanese Studies and an editor of Race and Migration in the Transpacific (2023), will discuss the book with one of its contributors, Katsuya Hirano, professor of history at UCLA. Professor Takezawa will discuss the new perspectives that the book offers on racism and migration, as well as the process of scholarly collaboration that led to its creation. Min Zhou, professor and director of the Asia Pacific Center at UCLA, will serve as a moderator.

Prior to the talk, Dr. Kim Mc Nelly will vbriefly introduce the Tule Lake Japanese Language Library collection, with a display of Tule Lake volumes available for viewing. Light refreshments will be provided, and there will be a free raffle for five Race and Migration in the Transpacific books signed by Professor Takezawa.
