The Michael and Susan Kahn Political Cartoon Collection

With Tia Blassingame(opens in a new tab), artist, educator and founder of Primrose Press

Drawing from the Primrose Press artist’s books in the library’s collection, Blassingame will discuss her creative practice and her strategies for exploring difficult histories and challenging subject matter. She will share recent and in-progress Primrose projects. Blassingame will also talk about the efforts of the Book/Print Artist/Scholar of Color Collective, which she founded in 2019, to build and support a community of BIPOC artists and scholars of BIPOC book histories and print cultures through collaborations.

Open to the public with registration not required.

Following an intermission and reception from noon to 1 p.m., Tia Blassingame will lead a hands-on artists' book workshop. Registration is required for the workshop as space is limited. See details and RSVP for the workshop: Monoprinting Artists’ Books.

This series is made possible through funds gifted by Michael and Susan Kahn in support of their recently donated world-class collection of political cartoons.
