The Tule Lake Japanese Language Library Collection at UCLA Library contains 1,947 items from the Tule Lake Japanese Language Library, which was created and administered by wrongfully incarcerated Japanese Americans and Japanese immigrants at the Tule Lake Segregation Center in Newell, California during World War II.
Hear from Tomoko Bialock, Japanese studies librarian at UCLA Library, and Kim McNelly, project assistant for the Tule Lake Japanese Language Library Collection Project, as they discuss the historical and cultural significance of the Tule Lake Library Collection, as well as the process of digitizing and presenting the materials.
