Library Cards
UCLA BruinCard
The BruinCard is the official identification and service card for UCLA students, staff, and faculty. Be sure to use the full ten digit number (the tenth digit is usually on the back of your card).
Faculty Authorization (Proxy) Card
UC Academic users can authorize another individual to conduct Library business on behalf of the faculty member and obtain a faculty authorization Library card.
Library Associates
With an annual gift of $120, users can join the UCLA Library Associates and obtain a complimentary library card. Present your confirmation email to the Biomedical or Young Research Library circulation desk to obtain your library card.
UC, CSU, and Community College Students
Students, faculty, and staff from other UC campuses are eligible for free UCLA library cards. Library cards for students at California Community Colleges and California State Universities are $25 for a six-month period and $50 for one year. Transfer Alliance Program participants are eligible for a free library card.
Access-Only Card
An access-only card is required for the use of many UCLA Library facilities and services. This card is issued free of charge to individuals over the age of eighteen with current, government-issued photo identification. It does not entitle the bearer to borrowing privileges.
Library Cards and Access to Online Materials
Please note that Library cards are used to access UCLA's print collections. They do not provide access to UCLA's online subscription materials.
