Renewals Using UC Library Search
Go UC Library Search and click on My Library Account
UCLA students, faculty, and staff may login by clicking on 'UCLA Users' and then entering your SSO UCLA Logon. All other users should select 'Community Users.' If it is your first time logging in, enter your library card number for the username and the password. You will then be prompted to reset the password.
If you experience any issues with logging in, send us an email at AskUs@library.ucla.edu with your name and library card number.
After logging in, click on your name in the top right corner. Select "My Loans" from the drop down menu.
A summary of your current borrowing record will appear. To renew selected items, click the "Renew" item shown to the right of the item title. A message will appear above the record showing the new due date.
To renew all items, select the check box at the top of the summary record to select all items, then click "Renew All"; the item(s) will have a green "Renewed" status and the new due date(s) will appear.
The message “Not Renewed” may appear next to an item. This item may have been recalled or be non-renewable for some other reason, including any renewal limits that may apply, and must be returned by its due date. For more information check with staff at the circulation desk in any campus library.
When you finish, click on your name and then the Sign Out button on the top/right of the screen.
What is your library account number?
For most users your BruinCard number is your library account number. Enter the nine digits that appear on the front of the card plus the tenth digit that appears on the back right-hand side of the card. Enter all ten digits without any spaces between them.
For other users the barcode on your library card number is your library account number. Enter the initial letter and all digits without any spaces between.
Problems renewing your materials online
If you cannot renew items online due to restrictions or blocks on your account, please email your name, BruinCard or library card number, and your request to renew to firstname.lastname@example.org, and we will either email you confirmation of your renewal, or an explanation as to why you are not able to renew the books. Only send an email if you are unable to renew online, as email requests may take up to 3 business days to process.
You can return most library materials to any library on campus; this does not include departmental libraries (e.g. English Reading Room, etc.).
The following items must be returned directly to the library location from which they were borrowed:
- Interlibrary loans
- One-day loans
