Have questions about your research?
We can help!

The Data Science Center collaborates with a number of partners on campus and in the larger data and open science environment. We advocate, adopt, and teach leading practices in data intensive research and open science. Our team is involved with the below groups and can facilitate connecting and adopting practices they promote. We also work with and refer to campus partners who support research.

The goal of the UCLA Statistical Consulting Center is to provide statistical advice and collaboration on advanced projects while also educating researchers on appropriate methodology and application. They offer walk-in office hours with individual consultants to answer questions and assists in project planning.

BITSS
The Berkeley Initiative for Transparency in the Social Sciences (BITSS) works to strengthen the integrity of social science research and evclassence used for policy-making. The initiative aims to enhance the practices of economists, psychologists, political scientists, and other social scientists in ways that promote research transparency, reproducibility, and openness.

Carpentries
The Data Science Center is a member of and contact point for the Carpentries at UCLA.  The Carpentries teach foundational coding, and data science skills to researchers worldwide through Data Carpentry, Software Carpentry and Library Carpentry. If you are interested in hosting, attending or becoming an instructor, please let us know.

Dataverse
Dataverse is an open source web application the enables sharing, preserving, citing, exploring, and analyzing research data. It facilitates making data available to others, and allows you to replicate others' work more easily. The DSC is responsible for UCLA Dataverse installation and helping researchers curate and publish their data. We are also a member of the Dataverse Constorium.

Open Science Framework
The Open Science Framework (OSF) is an open source software project that facilitates open collaboration in science research. This framework was used to work on a project in the reproducibility of psychology research. We have worked with the OSF so you can access it with your UCLA login ID. You can use this URL <https://osf.ucla.edu/> to login, connect and collaborate with your UCLA colleagues.

ICPSR
ICPSR, the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research maintains and provclasses access to a vast archive of social science data for research and instruction (over 8,000 discrete studies/surveys with more than 65,000 datasets). We are a founding member of ICPSR and continue to contribute to their collections. If you have questions about ICPSR please contact UCLA's Offical or Designate Representatives
