The Young Research Library Lux Lab is home to our fleet of MakerBot printers, as well as our Artec 3D scanners. It is located on the first floor of YRL, next to the group study pods.

We do not accept walk-in appointments or submissions. For a tour of our facilities, or to submit a print or laser scanning request, please use the Lux Lab service portal. For all other inquiries, feel free to email us.

Our smallest Makerbot printer. Uses Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) printing technology. Primary material used is PLA (Polylactic Acid) filament. Build volume is 9.9in x 7.8in x 5.9in L/W/H. Prints with a layer thickness of 100 microns.

Our most reliable Makerbot printer. Uses Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) printing technology. Primary material used is PLA (Polylactic Acid) filament. Build volume is 11.6in x 7.6in x 6.5in L/W/H. Prints with a layer thickness of 100 microns.

Makerbot Replicator Z18
Our largest printer. Uses Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) printing technology with an air-heated print chamber to mitigate warping on large-scale prints. Primary material used is PLA (Polylactic Acid) filament. Build volume is 11.8in x 12.0in x 18.0in.
