The Biomedical Library, located in 12-077 Center for Health Sciences, provides flexible spaces for UCLA students, faculty, and staff to do collaborative research (valid BruinCard is required). Bookable spaces include:
Biomedical Library Classroom
The Biomedical Library Classroom, located in 12-077Q Center for Health Sciences, provides a flexible space for UCLA students, faculty, and staff for instructional events. Tables and chairs can be configured to accommodate a variety of scenarios, including lectures and group collaboration.
We have some availability to open this space to campus groups focused on scholarship and research, who also lack official campus space support. These groups are eligible to book this space up to 10 weeks in advance. To inquire about booking this space and determine eligibility, contact the Biomedical Library Space Coordinator at biomed-access@library.ucla.edu.
Collaboration Pod
The Biomedical Research Commons feature a "collaboration pod" for group research including: study groups, office hours, and small seminars. Designed for up to six users, the pod is equipped with two large LCD monitors operated by laptops. Pod reservations can be made by UCLA students, faculty, and staff. The Pod is also available on a first-come basis when not reserved.
Group Study Room
Group study room reservations can be made by UCLA students, faculty, and staff. The room can accommodate groups of two to eight people, and is equipped with a whiteboard and an LCD screen operated by laptops.The following technology and equipment are available:
- Large rectangular table that fits 6
- 6 chairs
- 2 seat couch
- Whiteboard (with markers and erasers)
- 55 inch mobile LED screen.
- Note: additional tech items are available at the service desk.
