More Information

Collections in Powell Library focus on current, high-use materials—including books, magazines and reference materials—that support research, growth and wellness, leisure reading and engagement with a diverse campus community. The Powell Library Community Collections—which include recent fiction, science fiction and fantasy, graphic literature, cookbooks, travel, zines and video games—have been developed in collaboration with student groups and campus partners. Browse the collections in Powell’s main reading room* or in the Library’s catalog(opens in a new tab)!

We welcome suggestions and book requests from students and the UCLA community. If you're a member of a student group that has an existing collection or an idea for a new collection, please get in touch! Student liaisons act as bridges between organizations and the library, gathering title suggestions from the membership and working with a librarian to add them to the collection. If you have any questions, please contact the librarians at Powell at powellcollections@library.ucla.edu(opens in a new tab).

* Powell Library's Main Reading Room is undergoing seismic retrofit through April 2024. The collections are temporarily located in CLICC Lab (Powell 145; 1st floor) and the Rose Gilbert Reading Room (2nd floor).
