About the Exhibit

Presented across two UCLA Library locations—the Arts Library and Powell Library—this exhibit celebrates the legacy of Robert Gore, who served as UCLA Library's visual arts librarian from 2005 to 2026.

Highlighting Robert's curatorial and instructional work with the Arts Library's Artists' Books Collection, the display introduces visitors to the concept and craft of artists' books while showcasing notable examples from a collection he helped shape throughout his career. It also features artists' books and photobooks that Robert frequently incorporated into his teaching, along with documentation of his pedagogical practice.

The exhibit is presented in conjunction with a memorial event honoring Robert's impact on September 16 at Powell Library.
