About the Colloquium

The Marschak Colloquium, in partnership with the UCLA Library, sponsors speakers whose research aligns with the following principles:

  • Is interdisciplinary or discipline-based and aligns with the research interests of scientists and scholars from across the university
  • Is broadly quantitative and exemplifies mathematical modeling, systems theory, network analysis, experimental design and big data to elevate how we teach and conduct research.
  • Is integrative of quantitative and qualitative methods, as exemplified by a combination of quantitative measurement and ethnographic exploration to connect scholars from across the world to the university.
  • Is grounded in the human sciences or has implications for societal action and public policy in the greater Los Angeles area and globally.

Talks in the series are free and open to the UCLA community and general public.
