Explore how stories, migrations and memories shape diasporic identity through archives and creative practice.
The program will feature a presentation of Collective Voices(opens in a new tab), published by the USC Dornsife Institute of Armenian Studies, alongside a digital display of Armenian archival materials from UCLA Library. Published in 2025, the zine features poetry, essays, photography and artwork that honor the cultural heritage and memory of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
Creators Maral Tavitian(opens in a new tab), managing director of the USC Dornsife Institute of Armenian Studies, and Raffi Wartanian(opens in a new tab), poet laureate for the city of Glendale and lecturer in UCLA Writing Programs, will lead participants in reflecting on personal and collective histories and creating their own zines.
All supplies will be provided, and no prior experience is required. Attendees are welcome to bring photographs, letters, documents or other archival materials they would like to incorporate into their work.
