Made possible by a gift from William Hobson and Evelyn Troup Hobson

William Hobson established this endowment in loving memory of his wife of more than forty years, Evelyn. Mrs. Hobson received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Columbia University, and as a psychologist in private practice, she was a consultant to schools for children with learning disabilities. Mr. Hobson, a retired real estate development and municipal bonds investor, created a legacy of philanthropy at UCLA and at universities nationwide, establishing graduate fellowships to encourage and guarantee excellence in the fields that were most important to his wife. The Evelyn Troup Hobson and William Hobson Endowed Collection in the fields of education and psychology enhances Mr. Hobson's previous support of UCLA graduate students in both disciplines. His generous and comprehensive approach to giving ensured the necessary resources for generations of scholars.
