Please join UCLA Library in celebrating UCLA’s Class of 2026 with a special spotlight on our graduating Library employees. Serving in diverse roles across UCLA Library, including the UCLA Film & Television Archive, these students have made meaningful contributions to the resources, spaces and services that support the UCLA community.
To mark this milestone, several graduates shared some of their favorite memories of working at UCLA Library and reflected on the experiences that shaped their time on campus.
Rumaysa Ahmad

B.S. Chemical Engineering
Writing Instruction and Research Education (WI+RE)
“My favorite memory was being invited to teach a cluster about 'Empathy Mapping,' a tool used to organize learning resources. I enjoyed it since I got to play the role of an instructor instead of the student for once.”
Aarushi Anil

B.S. Human Biology and Society, Anthropology minor
Science and Engineering Library (SEL/Geology)
“My favorite memory of working in the library has been getting to know all of my coworkers and hearing directly from patrons about how much they value the spaces that libraries provide. As a student, I've always loved studying at the many libraries on campus, but it was fulfilling to hear it from the perspective of someone working at one :).”
Noah Brockman

Master of Library and Information Science
UCLA Film & Television Archive
“My favorite memory is getting to see patrons talking about the films they had just seen after screenings.”
Grace Bui-Luu

B.A. Psychology, Film, Television & Digital Media minor, Digital Humanities minor
Library Communications
“My favorite memory is having the wonderful opportunity to produce promotional materials and aid with handling archival pieces for the Bonnie Cashin Lecture Series!”
Audrey Campbell

B.S. Cognitive Science
Walter H. Rubsamen Music Library
“One time, a music professor brought a synthesizer into the back office and we all took turns playing it.”
Madison Davey

B.A. Philosophy, Study of Religion minor
Science and Engineering Library (SEL/Boelter)
“All my favorite Boelter memories are chats with my lovely coworkers. Learning about their lives, studies, and ambitions has been an honor. It's made Boelter feel like a home away from home, and I've felt so supported by my team. From celebrating grad school acceptance to navigating health issues, they've had my back. I hope they know I have theirs! I've loved being part of this wonderful team.”
Emily Duan

B.A. Economics
Campus Library Instructional Computing Commons (CLiCC)
“I loved my coworkers in CLICC! I had so much fun working with them on shift, studying together, hanging out with them outside shifts, and answering the monthly question on the whiteboard.”
Audrey Garcia

B.S. Data Theory
UCLA Library DataSquad, YRL
“My favorite DSC memories have come from sharing stories, ideas, and tricks of the trade with the wonderful people who make up the Library.”
Gillian Gee

Master of Library and Information Science
UCLA Film & Television Archive
“My favorite memories are sharing snacks with my coworkers, and making buttons for our screenings!”
Ryan Interrante

Master of Library and Information Science
UCLA Library Preservation & Conservation
“The best parts of working with the UCLA Library have been learning practical environmental monitoring and AV cataloging skills that supplemented existing coursework, and getting to work alongside a group of welcoming and supportive colleagues.”
Sarah Lancia

Master of Library and Information Science
UCLA Film & Television Archive
“Working on The Radio Project at the UCLA Film & Television Archive has been a tremendously rewarding experience. Handling grooved discs made of various materials has been a valuable opportunity to learn and gain hands-on experience with a collection. Digitizing these assets and listening to discs produced in the 1940s and 1950s has been deeply rewarding and educational. I am so grateful to be contributing to this project and to be part of this institution.”
Iris Lim

B.S. Applied Mathematics, B.A. Sociology
Library Communications
“Working with Library Special Collections to highlight various collections was a lovely opportunity to explore the unique offerings that we have at UCLA! It was such a delight to connect with library staff across campus and learn more about the different materials.”
Siobhan Nelson

B.A. Psychology, Global Health minor
Powell Library
“My favorite memory of working at the library is our end of year PR&WS picnics!”
Lorell Perillat
Master of Library and Information Science
Arts Library
“I have really enjoyed staffing the reference desks as a Library Student Research Assistant. I have loved answering patrons’ questions.”
Anthony Posada

Master of Library and Information Science
UCLA Library Special Collections (LSC), YRL
“My favorite memory of working in the library is the processing of the ‘Mariachi Music in Los Angeles and Beyond’ project. It was so fun to learn about LA’s rich history of mariachi music.”
Kate Ridgewell

Master of Library and Information Science
Charles E. Young Research Library (YRL)
“My favorite memory of working in the library was sharing the desk with my coworkers, the research help desk was always so full of laughter and support and I think that came across for our patrons too!"
Marley Saldivar-Lozano

Master of Library and Information Science
UCLA Film & Television Archive
“Working for the UCLA Film and Television Archive was the best part of graduate school! My favorite memories are the random chats we would have about television (especially The Great British Bake Off!) and attending the 2026 UCLA Festival of Preservation. Getting the opportunity to view and celebrate the amazing work of Archive staff, alongside staff and the community, was inspirational!!”
Alicia Sanyal

B.A. Communications, Film, Television & Digital Media minor

“My favorite part of working at Library Special Collections has been the ‘secondary education’ I’ve received by getting to handle (and share with the wider UCLA community) our fascinating archives during every shift!”
Nick Wilson

B.S. Microbiology, Immunology & Molecular Genetics
UCLA Cluster Program, Powell Library
“My favorite memory is the early mornings and late nights in the East Rotunda discussing the future of society's perception of sex and gender with first-year students.”
Emma Woods

B.S. Physiological Science
Science and Engineering Library (SEL/Geology)
“One of my favorite parts of working at the Geology library was seeing patrons take a break from studying to make pet rocks every tenth and finals week. I also loved shifting books in the stacks and imagining that my childhood dream of having a personal library had been fulfilled.”
