Project Team Description

The Workplace Culture & Equitable Opportunity Team aims to assess the current workplace climate of UCLA Library with an emphasis on structural and institutional racism and its impact on library staff. This project team will design targeted and specific action plans based on analyses of assessment data. The team will also share data relevant to other Anti-Racism Initiative project teams and goals, in order to foster a more just, equitable, and welcoming organizational environment.

Project Sub-Teams

Survey of Workplace Climate and Culture Issues
Design and carry out a survey questionnaire for BIPOC library staff across classifications to address specific facets of workplace: organizational power dynamics, decision making processes, library wide accountability, and professional development all while paying specific attention to how structural racism manifests and is experienced within those facets.

Survey and Assessment of Library Policies/Procedures Impacting Workplace Climate and Culture Sub-Team
Understand Library policies and procedures and assess how they may impact organizational climate and culture, with particular emphasis on structural and institutional racism.
