My Life in the Sunshine: Sampling the Soundscape of Black Los Angeles

Please join the UCLA Library for a live presentation celebrating the innovation and diversity of L.A.'s Black musical communities. Drawing on their discoveries while creating the My Life in the Sunshine exhibit at the UCLA Music Library, music librarian Matthew Vest and ethnomusicology graduate student Blair Black will share images, insights and sounds from the Library’s collections that showcase Black L.A.'s limitless musical landscape and highlight its influence on music and the music industry.
