University of California
Students, faculty, and staff from other UC campuses are eligible for free UCLA library cards with the same loan periods as UCLA students, faculty, and staff. Prospective users must present current UC identification and a photographic ID upon application for a card.
Community College and CSU Student
Library cards for students at California Community Colleges and California State Universities are $25 for a six-month period and $50 for one year. Prospective users must present current student identification and a photographic ID upon application for a card.
Transfer Alliance Program (TAP)
Community college students who participate in the Transfer Alliance Program (TAP) with UCLA are eligible for a free library card, which is valid only in the Powell and Young Research Libraries and has an annual September 30 expiration date. Holders can have five items checked out at one time, can renew items once, and cannot recall items or place interlibrary loan requests. These cards are issued only at the Powell Library Inquiry Desk. Students must bring the following:
- TAP library card authorization form, signed by an authorized honors program staff member from their community college
- A current photo ID

Please note that Library cards are used to access UCLA's print collections. They do not provide access to UCLA's online subscription materials.
