Library Special Collections eDelivery for Remote Research

Dear Bruin Community:

I’m pleased to announce a temporary new reference service offered by Library Special Collections – LSC eDelivery. Remote researchers can now request low-resolution, access images of many of UCLA Library’s distinctive paper-based collection materials. Researchers may request 100 pages of access images per individual per month. LSC eDelivery is available to all researchers; however, priority will be given to requests from UCLA community members. Some restrictions apply due to material availability, format, size, fragility, or donor restrictions. Please allow 2-4 weeks for delivery.

The LSC eDelivery service is designed to supplement research while the Ahmanson-Murphy Reading Room, located in the Charles E. Young Research Library, is closed for the installation of a new energy efficient humidity control system. This critical infrastructure work will safeguard our world-class collection of archives, rare books, manuscripts, photographs, and other rare and unique materials for you and future generations. When the LSC reopens in fall of 2021, UCLA Library will consider the feasibility of making this service a permanent aspect of our reference program.

For more information, please see our FAQ page. To gain remote access to Library Special Collections materials, please email LSC staff at AskUs@library.ucla.edu to initiate a reference interview. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Virginia Steel
