WI+RE – Writing Instruction & Research Education

WI+RE’s learner-led community has created a variety of workshops, tutorials, and handouts to help you with your research and writing. Here are some resources you might find useful: 

UC Library Search

UC Library Search is now live and replaces the UCLA Library Catalog and Melvyl as our local search tool. You can use it to locate and borrow millions of print and online books, journal articles, and other content. If you need help using UC Library Search, please see our helpful guide, video tutorial, or schedule a consultation with a librarian.

Equipment Lending and Virtual Desktop

CLICC – Campus Library Instructional Computing Commons – offers long-term laptop and equipment lending reservations and walk-up short-term laptop lending

  • Long-term laptops and equipment are available by reservation only and include Windows and macOS laptops that may be held until the end of the academic quarter.
  • Short-term laptops are Chromebooks available without advance reservation that may be held for one week.

UCLA students may access a variety of specialized software on any computer with Internet access via the CLICC Virtual Desktop

Group Study Rooms

CLICC also offers a variety of drop-in study spaces with seating, power receptacles, and eduroam Wi-Fi via self-service reservation while Library buildings are open. Group study rooms are reservable in both Powell Library and Young Research Library
