The Arts Library, located in the Luskin School of Public Affairs building, will be undergoing seismic upgrades and as a result, is closed to patrons through the winter quarter. Most collections will be available to UCLA patrons via Page and Pickup, and Arts Course Reserves materials will be housed in Powell Library. For more information, see our temporary collections access and services page. Please contact us at AskUs@library.ucla.edu with questions.
As UCLA prepares for in-person learning this fall, UCLA Library has resumed onsite services in most Library locations. This renewed focus on onsite services has resulted in the deactivation of most temporary remote services—including ETAS, PETDOR and Page and Pickup—and seat reservations for study spaces are no longer required. Read our Fall 2021 FAQ.
A valid BruinCard and face mask worn over the nose and mouth is required to enter all UCLA libraries. UCLA’s current COVID-19 protocols require all individuals—whether fully vaccinated or not—to wear a face covering indoors in all campus buildings. Examples of acceptable face masks are two-ply woven fabric masks or face coverings, surgical masks, non-woven KN95 masks and N95 respirators. Scarves, Balaclavas/ski masks, single-layer fabric masks, neck gaiters, bandanas, and turtleneck collars are unacceptable.
Located on the entry level floor, the Circulation Desk provides assistance with lending and returns of materials, recalls and fines, library cards, course reserves, laptop checkout, Cage collection paging, and general information.
Reference Reading Area
Located on the entry level floor next to the Arts Library Reference collection, the reading area contains several group tables for study and use of reference materials. Although relatively quiet, this area is adjacent to other service areas and patrons should expect some ambient noise.
Quiet Study Reading Room
Located on the 5th floor, the reading room is reserved for quiet study. It contains individual study carrels, tables, and different types of seating.
Audiovisual Viewing Station
Located behind the Library's circulation desk, the viewing station includes a Multi Region Free Zone Blu-ray DVD player, a VHS player (NTSC), viewing screen, and headphones. Access does not require an appointment, and can be requested at the Arts Library circulation desk.
CLICC laptop and iPad lending is located at the circulation desk.
