Exhibition and Loans

Have questions about your research?
We can help!
Institutions from around the world request to borrow materials from UCLA Library for exhibits. The Preservation & Conservation Department helps to ensure that the Library’s materials are fully documented, safe to travel, and in protective enclosures. Additionally, the Digitization and Loans Coordinator works with colleagues in various departments to coordinate and document all aspects of outgoing loans. We follow best practices for loans from condition reporting to ensuring the Library’s materials are fully covered by insurance. To learn more about outgoing loans for Library Special Collections in particular, visit their site here.
An integral part of UCLA Library’s mission is to inspire discovery, cultivate knowledge, and advance research. Participating in exhibits at institutions around the world allows audiences to discover our materials in new contexts.
