UCLA Early Music Ensemble Concert
The UCLA Early Music Ensemble, under the direction of Emma Stansfield and Elisabeth LeGuin, returns to Powell Library for a concert inspired by the meetings of Islamic, Christian, and Jewish civilizations around the Mediterranean. Repertoire will explore the music of Arabs, Turks, Iberians, and Northern Europeans through Sefardi songs, Ottoman Court music, Janissary band music, the Cantigas de Santa María, and the compositions of Telemann, Lully, and the Italian-Jewish composer Salamone Rossi.
Admission is free, but advance reservations are requested. RSVP
