Ranging from CartoDB to ESRI’s Story Maps, this workshop will cover: using tabular data for mapping, converting data into a digital web map, and creating a narrative structure using story maps.

Spring 2017 Research Data Visualization Series

With campus research increasingly demanding new and innovative approaches to data visualization and analysis, these workshops will cover topics on various research tools beyond digital mapping including ways to extract data from the web using Python, film editing in Adobe Premiere Pro, and 3D animation in Adobe After Effects. Each session will introduce subject material and is intended to leave attendees with a basic understanding on how to utilize digital technologies and other materials for their research. Co-sponsored by the UCLA Library and UCLA’s Institute for Digital Research and Education.
