Open Session on the UC Publication Management System

Tuesday, Apr 7, 2015 - 2:00pm to 3:30pm

Please join the UCLA Scholarly Communications Steering Committee to attend an open information session on the new UC Publication Managment System.

The UC Academic Senate Open Access policy has been in effect at UCLA since 2013; the policy requires that the final manuscript of published journal articles be deposited in an open access repository.  Earlier this year the California Digital Library launched a publication management system to simplify faculty compliance with the policy, and as a result, UCLA faculty-authored journal article uploads to eScholarship have risen dramatically.

However, many faculty members and support staffers have asked questions and requested assistance with the system and the messages it sends when it discovers new articles. Katie Fortney and Justin Gonder from the California Digital Library (CDL), together with UCLA librarians providing local support, will review the basics of the policy and demonstrate the publication management system.  A discussion will follow, so bring your questions and any suggestions for improvements to the system.
