Make Your Own Zine Workshop with Hannah Watanabe-Rocco

The UCLA Library Special Collections Punk Collective has partnered with LAPL to offer a Make Your Own Zine workshop led by writer and artist Hannah Watanabe-Rocco.
Hannah Watanabe-Rocco is a writer and artist living in Los Angeles, California. She self-publishes zines in addition to working in animation and comics. Her most recent project was writing, directing, and storyboarding an animated short at Nickelodeon called "Jan & Bobbie." Her work focuses on the small, sometimes mundane, sometimes ugly, always human moments that defy traditional narrative arcs and three-act structures. If she could be any dog, she’d be a grumpy terrier mutt with a scraggly beard and a heart of gold. Check out more of her work at www.hannahwr.com!
Attendees should bring their own materials with which to make their zines. Materials may include any of the following:
- Scissors
- Glue
- Pens – all colors
- Pencils – all colors
- Crayons
- Magazines to cut up
- 8.5” x 11” paper
- Glitter
- Stickers
- Anything and everything else you like!
Registered attendees will receive both the workshop Zoom link and a link to a shared file containing digitized images of LSC Punk Archive materials!
