Las Causas: Zines from the Chicano Studies Research Center Archive

Monday, February 5, 2018 - 12:00pm to Saturday, March 24, 2018 - 12:00pm

The Chicano Studies Research Center and the UCLA Library are pleased to present Las Causas: Zines from the Chicano Studies Research Center Archive, an exhibit opening on February 5 in the Powell Library Rotunda. The exhibit features small handcrafted booklets created by undergraduates in the Chicano/a Studies program.  These politically engaged works afforded students the opportunity to engage creatively with various aspects of Chicanx culture. The exhibit also highlights zines created and collected by Tatiana de la Tierra, a Colombia-born activist and writer. Focusing on feminist and lesbian topics, she amassed a collection that spans the Americas, from Canada to Argentina. Las Causas will be on view until March 24.
