Joint UC Carpentries Workshop Series - Intro to SQL

Tuesday, Sep 13, 2022 - 9:00am to 12:00pm

The 6-Day UC-Joint Carpentries workshop series aims to help researchers get their work done in less time and with less pain by teaching them basic research computing skills. This is a hands-on workshop that will cover basic concepts and tools, including foundational R and Python coding, data management skills, and project version control with Git. The workshops series is designed for novices and you do not need to have any previous knowledge of the tools that will be presented at the workshop. This is a free workshop.

Participants will be encouraged to help one another and to apply what they have learned to their own research problems.

This workshop series is for University of California faculty, graduate students, post-docs, researchers, and other staff.

This workshop will teach you what relational databases are, how you can load data into them and how you can query databases to extract just the information that you need using basic SQL queries.

The SQL session is concurrent with the OpenRefine session - please only choose one Day 6 session.
