Copyright Issues for Editors (and the Authors Who Love Them!)

Friday, Apr 17, 2015 - 12:00pm to 1:00pm

Come join UCLA librarians Vicki Steiner and Martin Brennan for another edition of our Lunch and Librarians series, presented in coordination with the GSA Publications office.  We'll have a brief presentation on various copyright issues that impact the editors of student-run journals, including:

  • Are copyright limits different for student-run journals?
  • Do you always need an author agreement?
  • How and why do authors get permissions to reuse copyrighted materials?
  • How and when can authors employ fair use?

We'll leave plenty of time for your questions.

Though this session is designed with editors in mind, authors and any others with an interest are welcome to attend!  Bring your lunch - we will provide dessert!
