Coffee with the Authors Alliance

in the Charles E. Young Research Library Presentation Room
Thursday, Mar 31, 2016 - 10:00am to 12:00pm

Have you published a book that isn’t selling as well as it used to, but still has value beyond its commercial life? Would you like to see that work made widely available again?

Are you wondering how to maximize the impact of your publications and reach a wider audience?

If so, you’ll want to come discover the Authors Alliance at this informal meet-and-greet over coffee at the UCLA Library. Bring your questions, talk with UCLA Library staff, and meet Michael Wolfe, a copyright attorney and executive director of the Authors Alliance.

Founded in 2014 by a group of UC Berkeley academics, Authors Alliance exists to help authors navigate issues such as copyright and fair use, publication agreements, open access publishing, and reversion of rights. Every day, new developments arise in copyright, open access, scholarly communication, and publishing. Evolving technologies and an ever-shifting legal landscape can make it challenging to find clear answers to questions that concern scholars, researchers, and authors. Whether you are an early-career academic concerned with publishing your first works or a seasoned faculty member with a backlist of titles to your name, Authors Alliance is a valuable resource for anyone who writes with the goal of sharing knowledge more broadly.

We look forward to connecting with the UCLA community, and invite you to submit your questions in advance of the meeting to  Learn more about us and our work at, and follow us on Twitter at @Auths_Alliance.
