The Center for Primary Research & Training (CFPRT) presents Archiving Queer Intimacies: Collections Across Space and Time featuring materials from UCLA Library Special Collections. This exhibit documents the various intimate connections that shape queer life. CFPRT scholars invite viewers to consider how the intensity of our intimate relationships can mark the passage of time -- an outlook that is opposed to traditional historiography.

These primary source materials attempt to center the experiences of people marginalized by the mainstream in favor of neater, linear life narratives. The everyday experiences and emotions steeped in these objects, photos, and writings evidence the vibrant life forces running through archives. They also make timely connections with the present. Archiving Queer Intimacies is on view in the lobby of Young Research Library through Summer 2022.
