The Richard C. Rudolph East Asian Library is pleased to present a touring exhibition and closing ceremony on Dr. Sun Yat-sen's visits to Los Angeles. This is a new multi-collaborative exhibition in commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of China's Revolution. The exhibit features over 300 reproductions of photographs, manuscripts, historical documents, books, and ephemera on Dr. Sun Yat-sen and the revolution he led in 1911 against the Qing Dynasty.
Dr. Sun Yat-sen's revolutionary thinking and the birth of revolutionary activities were closely related to the United States. During the course of the revolution, Dr. Sun developed deep and long-lasting bonds with the Chinese people in the United States. Overseas Chinese contributed immensely to the democratic revolution led by Dr. Sun, and he was quoted as saying that "Overseas Chinese are the mother of the revolution." Attendees are invited to come visit this exhibition and retrace the steps of Dr. Sun Yat-sen and his visits in Los Angeles.
