Studio A & Music Kits
Studio A
The Music Library Studio A is available for Audio Visual recordings and creation. The studio is equipped with the following:
- Focusrite Scarlett interface
- iMac Pro
- Laptop stand
- Piano Keyboard
- sE Electronics Studio Mic and Pop Screen
- Studio Monitors
- Whisper Room Studio
Studio A Reservation will take you directly to the Studio A UC Library Search page. If you have not reserved the Studio using UC Library Search, please read the directions in the "Reservations in UC Library Search" section below.

Music Kits
The Music Library has kits available for checkout and for use in Studio A. See the UC Library Search page links for each kit below. If you have not reserved a kit using UC Library Search, please read the directions in the "Reservations in UC Library Search" section below.

Reservation Terms
Music Kit Terms & Conditions
- Music Kits can only be reserved for UP TO 24-hours at a time.
- Reservations may be made up to 90 days in advance. If you'd like to make a reservation further out, please email Music Library Access Services at music-circ@library.ucla.edu.
- Music Kits can be reserved for use both inside and outside of the Music Library.
- Music Kits are subject to fines and fees if the kit is missing parts upon return.
Studio A Terms & Conditions
- Studio A can only be reserved for UP TO four hours at a time.
- Reservations may be made up to 90 days in advance. If you'd like to make a reservation further out, please email Music Library Access Services at music-circ@library.ucla.edu.
- The Music Library Studio A is available for Audio Visual recordings and creation. Groups up to 5 are allowed.
- For group study or classes, please reserve the Seminar Room.
- The Music Library may cancel bookings that don't meet the room requirements or if the room is needed for library instruction. A/V problems should be reported to the Music Library, but immediate support is not always available.
Reservations in UC Library Search

Open the link to Studio A or the Music Kit you wish to reserve (click the hyperlink from the list above).

Log-in to your library account

Select Request under the "How to get it" section

Select Check Availability to see that the Music Kit is available when you'd like to request it

If you attempt to book a request when it is already reserved, an error message will display "Failed to save the request: Request conflicts were found".

Look at the availability calendar to determine an open time to request

Brown Blocks = times the library is closed
-
b. Red Blocks = times the Music Kit/space is already booked

Music Kits can only be booked for 24 hours (from Start Day/Time to End Day/Time). If you try to book the kits for more than 24 hours an error message will display "No items can fulfill the submitted request".

The studio can only be booked for four hours (from Start Day/Time to End Day/Time). If you try to book the studio for more than four hours or over multiple days an error message will display "No items can fulfill the submitted request".

Select the Calendar function to select a day

Select the Hour dropdown to select a time

If your request was made successfully you will get the following message, "Your request was successfully placed. You will recieve an email when your request arrives.":

Show up at the Music Library Circulation Desk to check out your reservation or studio keys.
