The third through fifth floors house the Research Library's main collection of over two million books and bound journals. All items are shelved in one long sequence by call number, with the exception of oversize materials, which are located on separate shelves on the north side of each floor. Copy machines are located in the northeast corner of the second floor.

See floor plan (PDF) for more detailed layout.

The windows on floors two through five are lined with hundreds of individual study carrels, with more scattered throughout the book stacks.

Faculty Carrels

A limited number of faculty carrels are available on the third through fifth floors. Carrels are assigned to UCLA faculty members for specific research projects that require library facilities for uninterrupted study or writing. Application forms are available at the circulation desk on the first floor.

Lockers

Quarter-use lockers located on floors two through five are available for rental by UCLA Library card holders. Fees are $20 per quarter. Locker assignments are made at the circulation desk on the first floor. Lockers may be rented at any time of the year, except during locker renewal and clearance periods.
