For Poverty Awareness Month, the Science Libraries are raising awareness about student poverty, homelessness, and food insecurity and have partnered with the UCLA CPO Food Closet.
Stop by the Science and Engineering Library or the Biomedical Library to learn about poverty and homelessness among college students and to donate food and other items to the UCLA CPO Food Closet. The Food Closet provides free food for any UCLA student who may be experiencing hunger and/or struggling to attain food due to financial hardships.
Things you can donate:
- Canned items
- Dry goods (beans, rice, pasta)
- Snacks (cookies, crackers, bars)
- Feminine hygiene products
- Dental hygiene products
- Soap, deodorant, shampoo
The food drive will take place from January 22 – February 1.
This poster is part of a series of interactive activities to ensure that we are not neutral during times of crises and to bring social justice issues to the forefront at the Science Libraries.
