LARIAC Data
The Los Angeles Region Imagery Acquisition Consortium (LARIAC) Program is a collaborative acquisition program for digital aerial imagery data which has included the participation of 30+ Los Angeles County departments, 40+ municipal governments, and many other public agencies1. The Consortium is a model for regional cooperation that improves the quality, access, and cost-effectiveness of high resolution digital aerial imagery and related products1. LARIAC 5 is the most current iteration of the program1. LARIAC 6 has commenced for 2020 imagery capture2.
UCLA’s LARIAC Data
UCLA’s Data Science Center currently has LARIAC 4 and LARIAC 5 data. LARIAC 4 was captured in 2014. It includes orthogonal imagery (4-inch), oblique imagery, building outlines, elevation data, and derived data (tree canopy, solar insolation, slop, hillshade, height model, land cover, etc)1. LARIAC 5 was captured in 2017. It includes the same data as in LARIAC 4, except the elevation data.
How to Access UCLA’s LARIAC Data
To access UCLA’s LARIAC Data, you have to submit a LARIAC jira ticket to the Data Science Center. Access to LARIAC data is free to the UCLA community, however, if you are not affiliated with UCLA, you can still access it with some stipulations.
You must be willing to:

Sign a project contract or agreement

Only share data to the area(s) directly relevant to the project
Following these stipulations, our center will grant you access to CONNECTExplorer and a dataset folder.
CONNECTExplorer is an online application for viewing aerial images and performing measurements, such as the height of a building. The shared datasets contain the aerial images, such as ECW and GeoTIFF files, and derived data, such as parcel lines, building footprints, and contour lines.
