Initiating a gift begins with \u003Ca href=\"https://ucla.libwizard.com/f/giftmaterials\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">submitting the proposed titles via our form\u003C/a>. After submission of a title list, library staff will reach out for any additional information needed and instructions for transfer of the materials, if applicable. Depending on the value of the materials, legal documents to transfer ownership to the UC Regents may be required at the time of transfer. \u003Cstrong>The library does not accept unsolicited gifts without prior approval; any such material may be disposed of at the discretion of the library. \u003C/strong>\u003C/p>\n\u003Cp dir=\"ltr\">Before submitting titles, please review the following criteria. Any accepted gifts must:\u003Cbr />\u003C/p>\n\u003Cul>\u003Cli dir=\"ltr\">\u003Cp dir=\"ltr\">Have been pre-approved by the appropriate library personnel.\u003C/p>\u003C/li>\u003Cli dir=\"ltr\">\u003Cp dir=\"ltr\">Be within the scope of our collections.\u003C/p>\u003C/li>\u003Cli dir=\"ltr\">\u003Cp dir=\"ltr\">Support current instructional and research programs of the university.\u003C/p>\u003C/li>\u003Cli dir=\"ltr\">\u003Cp dir=\"ltr\">Do not duplicate existing holdings.\u003C/p>\u003C/li>\u003Cli dir=\"ltr\">\u003Cp dir=\"ltr\">Be in good physical condition and not require conservation.\u003C/p>\u003C/li>\u003Cli dir=\"ltr\">\u003Cp dir=\"ltr\">Can be made accessible to all users; the library cannot honor requests to restrict materials.\u003C/p>\u003C/li>\u003C/ul>\n\u003Cp dir=\"ltr\">Gifts are accepted subject to the policies of the Regents of the University of California, with the understanding that the university reserves the right to determine retention and disposition.
