 Day 2 & Beyond

Onboarding for Librarians and Staff

  1

Get Your UCLA BruinCard

The BruinCard is not just an official university ID, it's your Passport to Life at UCLA. Get one at the BruinCard Center in 123 Kerckhoff Hall.

  2

Enroll in Benefits

If you are eligible for health and welfare benefits, you may enroll yourself and your eligible family members within your 31-day period of initial eligibility (PIE) through the UCPath Portal.

If you are eligible for retirement benefits, you have 90 days from your eligibility date to choose a primary retirement benefit - either Pension Choice or Savings Choice. Choose wisely as your enrollment window closes once you submit a choice and no option selected will result in automatic enrollment in Pension Choice. Enroll before your 90-day period ends at myUCretirement.

  3

Attend UCLA New Employee Orientation

Some employees may be required to attend the New Employee Orientation as soon as possible following their date of hire or before their period of initial eligibility expires (preferably) to learn about benefits and what makes UCLA a "best in class" employer. LHR will register you for an orientation session at the UCLA Wilshire Center.

  4

Complete Required Compliance Training

All UC employees must complete compliance training requirements specific to the work they perform at UCLA. Log in to UC Learning Center and click "Required Training". Employees should complete all required compliance training during normal working hours.

  5
