Have questions about your research?
We can help!
The Library Associates annual giving program is an association of dedicated supporters who recognize that the Library is at the heart of UCLA's entire academic enterprise. Library Associates provide unrestricted annual support to the Library.
Gifts may be designated to the University Librarian's Fund to help meet critical priority needs including purchases of opportunity or to one of the Library's eight subject libraries to meet that particular library's current priority needs. Either way, donors will be investing in current and future generations of scholars at UCLA and around the world who depend on the Library for a wide, rich variety of resources and services.
UCLA students, faculty, and staff, as well as the public from the Southern California region and scholars from around the world, all rely on the UCLA Library's unique intellectual resources, which include:
Comprehensive and unique collections, from core collections that support undergraduate instruction to a wide range of primary source materials that support research, from illuminated medieval manuscripts to electronic scientific journals, from rare Audubon prints to the Los Angeles Times photo archive, from the papers of Nobel Peace Prize winner Ralph Bunche to the architectural drawings of Richard Neutra.
research and instructional services, from in-person and online reference assistance to information literacy programs that teach students how to use the myriad of information sources available to them in all media.
library facilities, from the undergraduate College Library in the landmark Powell Library Building to the contemporary Eugene and Maxine Rosenfeld Management Library, from the Night Powell Extended Hours Reading Room to group study rooms in many libraries.
Library Associates Annual Giving Society
Gifts at every level help the UCLA Library address the growing needs of the student body and academic research community. With donor support, the Library can meet priority needs, including twenty-four hour library access during finals week and staffing for greater access to one-on-one research assistance. With a gift of any amount to the UCLA Library, you’ll receive a subscription to our newsletter, UCLA Library News. If you give $120 or more ($100 non-tax-deductible), you can opt to receive a UCLA Library card.
Powell Society ($1,000+)
The UCLA Library is important to you, and we want to count you among our most engaged supporters. When you give a gift of $1,000 or more to the Library, you become a part of the Powell Society, named in honor of renowned former University Librarian Lawrence Clark Powell. Recognition for your gift includes an invitation to the annual Powell Society Event, listing in our donor honor roll, an Honor with Books bookplate, and membership in the Chancellor’s Society.
