- CRIS collects world atlases produced by the
National Geographic Society, Times, and other well known cartographic
publishers
- CRIS collects national atlases from all nations

- Maps
- Primary focus of the collection is the Los
Angeles Metropolitan Area. CRIS collects virtually any map of the
area that is available. The exception to this rule is that we cede
responsibility for large scale geologic mapping and related cartographic
resources to the William C. Putnam Map Collection housed within
the Science and Engineering Library Map Collection.
- CRIS collects maps of the state of California
on all subjects except large scale geologic mapping
- CRIS is a depository for topographic maps produced
by the United States Geological Survey for all 50 states
- CRIS collects thematic maps for all 50 states

- CRIS collects topographic map series for all
areas of the globe generally at a scale no larger than 1:200,000.
CRIS selectively collects topographic map series at scales larger
than 1:200,000 in an attempt to complete coverage in series already
held at UCLA or when specific research needs require larger scales
- CRIS collects thematic maps of foreign countries
with an emphasis on the following subjects: physical relief, vegetation,
population and demographics, religion, language, tourism, economics,
