The Lux Lab is a collection of emerging technology services offered by the UCLA Library, including 3D printing and scanning, laser etching and cutting, 3D mapping, and large-format printing. Our printers can print up to a resolution of 25 microns (0.025mm), and our scanners have a max resolution of 100 microns, or .1mm.
These services are available to all students, staff, and faculty, and are offered free of charge. However, due to limited resources, we are no longer accepting personal project proposals.
We are still accepting projects that are academic in nature or otherwise directly related to UCLA, such as a student club/organization. We also work closely with our campus's very own student-run print club, 3D4E. Please visit their website for more information!
We are eager to establish partnerships with other clubs, organizations, and classes, so please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
We have locations in Powell Library, Young Research Library, and are working to expand to the Science and Engineering Library in Boelter Hall. If you'd like to submit a proposal, request, or just ask us some questions, please see our contact information below.
