CONTENTS:  Databases included here are (1) formal indexes used to identify publications issued by government agencies and/or their contractors and (2) full-text databases.  These databases are usually maintained over long periods of time as a record of the publications on a particular subject or of a specific agency.  Search engine searching for web publications on an agency's web page are generally not included here.  While the majority of the databases listed are free, some of them are commercially produced and they are not free.  Those that are not free are indicated by: (UC users only).

    • NTIS  Database  1990- current.  Technical reports from many agencies.  (NOTE:  each campus may have a more complete version of this database dating back to 1964.  Check with your library if you need more information.)
    • TOXNET  A cluster of databases on toxicology, hazardous chemicals, and related areas.
    • HazDat (Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry) Effects of releases from Superfund sites or emergency spills.
    • Environmental Management (DOE) Access to full-text technical reports on chemistry, engineering, health sciences, hydrogeology, etc.
