Hours and Locations

Ahmanson-Murphy Reading Room

The Ahmanson-Murphy Reading Room is located on the lower A level of the Charles E. Young Research Library. Reading room hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hours are reduced during academic intersessions and holidays. Please check the Research Library schedule of hours on the UCLA Library Web site when planning a visit.

Biomedical Library History and Special Collections for the Sciences

The Biomedical Library History and Special Collections for the Sciences is located on the fourth floor of the Louise M. Darling Biomedical Library, which is in the northeast corner of the Center for the Health Sciences.  Reading room hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. by appointment. Hours are reduced during academic intersessions and holidays.  Please check the Biomedical Library schedule of hours of the UCLA Library Web site when planning a visit.

The majority of Center for Oral History Research materials are accessible online on the Center for Oral History Research webpage.  Interview transcripts and recordings not available online can be accessed in the Ahmanson-Murphy Reading Room on the A level of the Charles E. Young Research Library.

Performing Arts Special Collections

Materials that were formerly part of Performing Arts Special Collections, Arts Library Special Collections and Music Library Special Collections are now officially part of Library Special Collections. They are accessed in the Ahmanson-Murphy Reading Room on the A level of the Charles E. Young Research Library.

University Archives materials are now part of Library Special Collections. They are accessed in the Ahmanson-Murphy Reading Room on the A level of the Charles E. Young Research Library.
