Map Reproduction Services Fees

Reproductions of maps in the open collections of the Charles E. Young Research Library are available through Color Digital Reprographics or the Southern Regional Library Facility, which perform duplication work according to the requestor’s specifications. Each vendor sets its own rates, which vary depending on services requested. The requestor is responsible for contacting the chosen vendor to place an order and must pay the vendor directly.

A library staff member must review and approve all map reproduction requests in advance. Requestors are responsible for determining the copyright status of all items and obtaining any permissions needed prior to reproduction.

Preparation Fees

No preparation fees are charged to UC users; this applies to university-directed or non-profit research only.

Non-UC users are charged a cost-recovery handling fee of $33 for the first map and $20 for each additional map; this does not include the vendor’s charges. Fees must be paid in advance at the Research Library cashier’s window, which accepts checks and credit cards only, and are non-refundable. Checks must be in U.S. currency, payable to the University of California Regents.

Vendors

Color Digital Reprographics (CDR)
CDR can be reached at 310.201.0300; the requestor must contact the company to initiate an order. CDR staff will need to know the number of items, size of each, and type of reproduction required. Southern Regional Library Facility (SRLF)
The SRLF, which is located on the UCLA campus, can be reached at 310.206.2010; the requestor must contact the facility to initiate an order. The SRLF staff will need to know the number of items, size of each, and type of reproduction required.

The items will be transported to the SRLF as part of the UCLA Library’s routine daily pick-ups and deliveries to that facility, which also houses lower-use library materials.
