Funder requirements

Many funding agencies require that funding proposals include a data management plan; some funders also expect grantees to share the data or publications that result from grant funding. For instance, the National Institutes of Health’s Public Access Policy and the National Science Foundation’s Data Sharing Policy were created to ensure that the public has access to tax-payer funded research.  The DMPTool provides step-by-step assistance with writing a data management plan to meet the requirements of many federal funders.  The DMPTool website also maintains an up-to-date list of the specific requirements by NSF, NEH, NIH, NOAA and more.
