Library Collaboration with Campus Center: A New UCLA Credit Course
Submitted by Brena Smith

This fall, the library will be participating in a collaborative effort with the Undergraduate Research Center for the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (URC) to offer a new credit course. Honors Collegium 101G will be a 2-unit course focusing on the fundamentals of research utilizing both the physical and electronic collections of the UCLA Library. This course will target upper division students in the Social & Behavioral Sciences participating in URC fellowship and scholarship programs, students considering independent studies, and students who are working toward a capstone experience. This course will also be of special benefit to new transfer students. Students will learn how to maximize their use of the resources available through the UCLA Libraries including the extensive electronic and print resources, special collections, and subject specialists. The course will include on-site visits to libraries and guest lectures by librarians on a variety of topics.

For more information about this upcoming course, contact Brena Smith (College Library) at brena@library.ucla.edu.
