Sunshine Week 2011

Sunshine Week (March 13-19, 2011) is a nationwide initiative to promote the importance of open government and freedom of information. Sunshine Week is about the public's right to know what its government is doing, and why.  Make your lives better and communities stronger by becoming an informed and active participant in your government.

How to get involved:

  • Read headlines on government transparency and accountability available from the SunLight Foundation
  • Follow Sunshine Week on Facebook and Twitter
  • Attend the live viewing of Sunshine Weeks's nationwide webcast "The Road Ahead for Open Government" with commentary from transparency experts inside and outside the government on Friday, March 18, at 9:00 a.m. in the Charles E. Young Research Library Presentation Room, (room 11348).

For more information on this year's Sunshine Week activities, contact Maria A. Jankowska, federal government information librarian, by email or by phone at 310.825.1534.
