UCLA Southeast Asia Library Collection

The Young Research Library of UCLA holds an extensive Southeast Asian (SEA) Studies collection containing current and retrospective materials in both Western and vernacular languages. These materials relate to all 11 Southeast Asian countries: Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Current collection development emphasizes materials that support the teaching and research of UCLA faculty and students on Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, and the SEA region. Highlights among the collections include a number of significant microform titles on Indonesia and on other SEA countries.

Because of space limitations, SEA materials are housed in both the Young Research Library and in the Southern Regional Library Facility (SRLF), from which materials can be retrieved quickly upon request. With strong support from the UCLA Center for Southeast Asian Studies, the UCLA Southeast Asia Library Collection is rapidly growing.
