We've added another Southern California happening that might interest some of you. The exhibit "Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera and Twentieth-Century Mexican Art: The Jacques and Natasha Gelman Collection" will run May 14-September 4 at the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego, 700 Prospect Street, La Jolla. The exhibit will feature more than 80 works by noted 20th century Mexican artists. Tues.-Sat. 10-5; Wed. 10-8; Sundays noon-5. (posted 5/9/00)

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art – LACMA – presents Pharaohs of the Sun: Akhenaten, Nefertiti, Tutankhamen, one of the most important international presentations of Egyptian art and culture in recent decades. On view from March 19 through June 4, 2000, the exhibition covers the revolutionary epoch known as the Amarna Age when the Pharaoh Akhenaten assumed the throne of Egypt at its peak of imperial glory.
