Online Archive of California (OAC)
The Online Archive of California (OAC) is a Web-accessible, digital gateway to information about materials such as manuscripts, photographs, and works of art held in libraries, museums, archives, and other institutions across California. Whereas in the past, it was usually necessary to travel in person to collection sites, the OAC makes detailed information about special holdings readily knowable. It does this by allowing the researcher to browse "finding aids," i.e., inventories of collection content.

The Department of Special Collections has more than 1700 collections, 2/3s of which have already been converted to machine-readable format on the OAC.
Finding Aid Database
Because the work of the OAC Team is still in progress, a search of the OAC Site will not yet produce a complete list of Manuscripts and University Archives Collections. To search the complete list of these collections and view existing finding aids, use the Finding Aid Database
